to our wild one:

we had a rough start but with many people, more than i could have ever imagined, praying you pulled through. it’s been nothing but the best roller coaster ride and i can not believe we have hit one year. one year since you have filled our hearts, one year since you have turned our family from three to four. trying to keep up with dylan is your daily goal and what you lack in height (he’s got his mama’s genes) you make up in personality. lucas, you are our wild one and monkey.

happy 1st birthday!

late afternoon yesterday i finally had a chance to take dylan out for his 4 year portraits. with a love for all things train related, we set out to this little gem of a location only 10 minutes from our home. we were assured by a local business that the train tracks and rusty trains are no longer in use so it was completely safe :) …it was perfect.

four years down, many more to look forward too.

my oldest turned four on the 17th and like any other busy mom, i am just now getting around to looking at the pictures i took that day.  although i still have not taken his official four year portraits *cough cough mom slacker* i did manage to capture a tradition in our household that i hope still continues when the boys are eighteen years old.

every year after their first birthday, they decorate a cake to eat the night of their birthday and although i have only done this tradition with dylan the past three years, i have a feeling lucas will enjoy it just as much.

dylan, i can’t believe it has been 4 years already. on this evening three years ago we were spending our last night in the hospital together before we brought you home to begin a life changing journey.

you’ll always be my little punk.

the rain stopped, the sun was out and humidity was in full force for this mornings one year lifestyle portrait session with will and his mom and dad. on saturday we were only able to squeeze in the cake smash portion (see below) due to rain but today was perfect and so was this family. we had so much fun getting the birthday prince to smile and once he did…*swoon*. lisa and kevin, i have enjoyed watching your little guy grow up from behind the camera and so honored to have captured this special time in your lives. keep in touch and have a great party!

this family has been apart of our lives for almost three years. jennie and i met at the pediatricians office and we instantly bonded over my fear of dylan choking on certain food and how ridiculously cute our 9 month old babies were. we became instant friends and have remained close since. as you grow up, it’s harder to find people you connect with and i am lucky enough to have had this rare experience with jennie. as they are getting ready to pack up and move to virginia in the next few weeks,  i couldn’t be more happier for them as the next chapter of their lives is sure to be just as amazing as it was here. i mean, 20 minutes from the beach…how cool is that! so without further ado, a very special sneak peek for a very wonderful family. love you guys and will miss you so much!
